Stunning, large antique oval platter with bamboo and bird design. Still functional or ornamental but some discolouration, chips and crazing to the glaze. This only gives this piece more character. Made by Old Hall Earthenware Co Ltd and inscribed with Madras style mark and Indian Stoneware detailing, this rare 19th century platter is exquisite.

The Old Hall Earthenware Co Ltd was founded in 1862 by Charles Meigh & Son and ran until it was replaced by the Old Hall Porcelain Works Company which closed in 1902. It was the first pottery limited company in North Staffordshire.
Pieces bought from L&N have had a previous life, therefore may show signs of wear consistent with use and age
