One of our most intriguing pieces. We discovered this this magical relief copper fish at auction, captivated by its glow and flowing form. It was only when we brought it home we discovered it had a wonderful secret. All around the fish, back and front of the plate, are exquisitely scratch drawn sketches of faces and figures. A mysterious history emerges. So the question is… did this piece of copper have a first life capturing wonderful portraits and a second life as a shimmering fish or was it the other way round? We may never know! But what ever its history, this wonderful tile sums up Lamb & Newt …. the art of giving things a new life, rebirthing, reloving, reusing. We absolutely love it!
